2) Herts Sports Partnership – Various Funding Programmes

Charlie Mann from Herts Sports Partnership (HSP) presented on the various funding programmes and support available from themselves and Sport England. These included the Sport England Movement Fund (awards for capital and sustainability projects of £300-£15,000); The National Lottery Fund (£300-£20,000); and the Funding4Sport bid writing support programme.

3) Dacorum Borough Council Training Bursary Scheme

5) Engaging with local councillors and funding opportunities they provide

Keith Pollard from DSN presented on the hierarchy of councils and councillors, and the benefits to sports clubs of engaging with them. These benefits include Locality Budget funding and also support in other ways when needed such as for planning applications and access to s106 funding, as well as Borough, Community and Small Grants Funds.

6) The Dacorum Local Plan update

Andy Criddle from DSN presented on the Dacorum Local Plan which is currently open to Public Consultation (but only until 17th December) and the importance of this for sports clubs. He encouraged clubs to consider the affects that the big increases in population (44% in Tring, 15% in Berko and 36% in Hemel) will have on their clubs and facilities. He also recommended all clubs should view the Plan including the Infrastructure Development Plan and respond if they feel that there is not enough support for sport.
